pnm.ac.id- Anfical Lower Silalahi and Imelda Aprilia Permata will only graduate this year. However, these two students from the Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) English Study Program class of 2022 have successfully passed the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program) on July 21 2025. Anfical and Imelda will also start studying in Taiwan on September 15 2025.
INTENSE Program is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MOE) Taiwan. This program is a collaboration between government, industry and universities to create an integrated and smooth path from education to employment.
Anfical and Imelda's struggle is quite tight and challenging. Starting from administrative matters such as academic documents to language certificates, draftingstudy planin English, up to the interview stage. According to Anfical, the biggest challenge in this process is adapting to international standards that are different from previous experience. Even Imelda felt tired and doubtful about being able to complete the preparations well.
"But every time I almost give up, I always remember my initial goal of wanting to have new experiences, get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. That's what keeps me going." Imelda said.
Prayers and support from family, friends and lecturers became additional ammunition for both of them. "Thanks to the full support of the campus, my supervisor, and the enthusiasm of my long journey during college, I managed to pass every stage until I was declared to have passed." Anfical said.
Regarding scholarship information, Imelda and Anfical received information from the PNM campus WhatsApp group. Then continue with socialization via Zoom Meeting. For Imelda, this information is a good opportunity to try new things and gain experience in the international arena.
Anfical said that he was motivated to take part in the program to develop himself in the field of engineering and technology. "This program is very attractive because it provides full scholarships, industry internship opportunities, job guarantees, access to future fields of study, as well as opportunities to build international networks." he explained.
According to Anfical, his journey to qualifying for the INTENSE Program was not instantaneous. During college he actively participated in various activities to train leadership, communication and practical experience.
The activities he participated in ranged from being part of the Student Executive Board (BEM), becoming a 2023 PNM Campus Ambassador, joining the external organization of the Indonesian Polytechnic Student Communication Forum (FKMPI), as well as participating in the Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) program, namely the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) Batch 3 and the MSIB Batch 6 Internship.
"All of these experiences shaped my mentality and abilities, as well as being important provisions in facing selection for this program." Obviously.
In the end, both of their struggles bore sweet fruit. The most memorable moment that Anfical felt was when he announced his graduation. "It feels like all the long struggles I have endured—both in organizations, campus programs, and this selection—have finally paid off." he said.
Likewise with Imelda. "When it was finally declared accepted, I felt mixed, relieved, happy and full of gratitude. All the processes I went through paid off with this result." he said.
Imelda also said that her friends should not be afraid to try because every opportunity could be the beginning of many other valuable experiences. "At first it may seem difficult, but if we have intention, effort and prayer, God willing, everything can be achieved."
Imelda further said to never hesitate to get out of your comfort zone. "And most importantly, never hesitate to get out of your comfort zone, because that's where we can really grow." Imelda's message.
Anfical and Imelda also hope that their learning experience in Taiwan will be of benefit, not only for themselves but also for the beloved campus of Madiun State Polytechnic and the Indonesian nation in the future.
The following campuses and companies received Anfical and Imelda:
- Receiving campus: Cheng Shiu University
- Recipient Company: Yineng Construction Engineering Co., Ltd.

As additional information, Anfical and Imelda will take part in a scholarship program with a 2+2 scheme. This means that both of them will spend two years studying in Taiwan followed by two years working at partner companies.
In the first two years, one year at the end will be used for industrial internships. Therefore, apart from getting theory in class, both of them will also get direct practical experience in the company. In addition, it was the partner company that from the start provided assistance with living costs during college as well as guaranteed job placement for both of them after graduation.
"In general, this program not only provides the opportunity to study, but also prepares us to directly enter the world of work." Anfical explained. *(Public Relations Team/PIP PNM)
