The Center for Quality Assurance and Learning Development (PPMPP) Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) held Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for Curriculum Development on Friday (07/07) in the Joint Lecture Room, Building C, Campus 2 PNM. The Bimtek was attended by participants consisting of Head of Department, Secretary of Department, Head of Study Program (Prodi), Quality Assurance Group (GPM) and Head of Laboratory within PNM.
Before the material began, a speech was given by the Head of PPMPPPNM Indah Puspitasari, S.Pd., M.T. and Deputy Director 1 for Academic Affairs PNM Dr. Yosi Afandi, S.Sos., M.AB. Meanwhile, the resource person for the Curriculum Development Guidance came from the UGM Vocational School, namely Agus Nugroho, S.T., M.T.
Agus Nugroho, S.T., M.T. is the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at the UGM Vocational School 2016 – 2021. He is also actively involved in various work teams within the Directorate General of Diction (Vocational Higher Education).
The material that Agus presented that day was related to graduate profiles and learning achievements, then continued with work practices and conducting reviews of each study program. At the beginning of his material, Agus explained that now the learning outcomes and profiles of graduates have been replaced with the learning outcomes of study program graduates.

Regarding this material, the Chair of the PPMPP PNM Learning Development Work Team Kumala Mahda Habsari, S.Pd., M.T. explained that the technical guidance resource person—Agus—also straightened out the study program's mindset regarding graduate achievements. Until now, the study program's mindset regarding the achievements of graduates is mostly in professions such as accountants, managers, technicians or other professions. In fact, it is not the profession that is emphasized but rather what abilities graduates can gain.
"Yesterday one of them straightened that out. So we have to review whether the learning outcomes of graduates are appropriate or not." Mahda explained.
Technical guidance activities related to curriculum development are an important agenda to be implemented. Mahda said that every study program at PNM really needs to update the curriculum guidance documents and curriculum documents based on existing curriculum developments and updates at the Vocational Higher Education level.
"So in Diksi there are the latest curriculum guidelines, the document is for 2022. So to implement this we are carrying out internal technical guidance to equip study programs to prepare updated curriculum documents for each study program." Mahda explained.

Furthermore, Mahda explained that the purpose of holding the technical guidance was toupdatecurriculum documents because there are very significant differences between the old and new curriculum documents. For example, regarding the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) curriculum, which includes the latest methods that must be included, one of which is Project Based Learning (PBL) or Product Based Learning, where the study program does not yet have basic guidelines or curriculum documents.
"All of this is needed to support the institution's SPMI (Internal Quality Assurance Unit). So yes, it is to support quality assurance which will always take place at the institutional level." he said.
Mahda hopes that the technical guidance can open up the study program and curriculum team's insight regarding how to prepare curriculum documents in an appropriately structured manner. “The hope is clear and definiteinsightstudy program team, study program curriculum team, that how to prepare (red: curriculum document) thenup to dateand structured.” Mahda said.
It doesn't stop there, the technical guidance will also have a continuation because compiling a curriculum document takes a long time and cannot be done quickly. Later there will be continued material including related to grouping and work practices for grouping RMK (Subject Groups), formulating credits and reducing courses.
"Indeed, the surgery has to be layered. There will be a continuation, God willing, if there are no obstacles, it will take about two weeks to complete it to the end. breakdown subject. "So in the end, until the required courses appear, the language is based on the graduate learning outcomes that have been prepared earlier." Close Mahda. *(Public Relations Team/PIP PNM)
