Two teams from the Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) Computer Control Engineering Study Program, ROBOWTEMA and ASIRO, succeeded in securing 3rd place and 6th place in the 2023 Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) Region II 2023. The announcement was broadcast live via the National Achievement Center's YouTube channel on Saturday (03/06).
The ROBOWTEMA team won 3rd place in the Indonesian Thematic Robot Contest (KRTMI) division out of a total of 37 competing teams. This division has the theme "Robo Game – Digital Twin" which adopts a planetary gear system. In this division the robot is instructed manually to arrange the specified gear system. The winner is determined by how precisely and quickly the robot can assemble the gear system.
Meanwhile, the ASIRO Team was ranked 6th in the Indonesian SAR Robot Contest (KRSRI) division out of a total of 45 participating teams. The KRSRI Division's theme is "Autonomous Legged Robots for Post-Disaster Rescue". In this division, the winner is determined by how many victims can be saved in the shortest time.

Apart from being broadcast via YouTube, the announcement of the teams that passed the selection was also supported by a letter from the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture number 1019/J7.1/PN.00/2023 concerning the Announcement of 2023 National KRI Participants dated June 1 2023.
According to the letter, the ROBOWTEMA Team and ASIRO Team are among the 136 participants who will compete at the 2023 National KRI. The contest, which can be participated by students from all universities in Indonesia registered in the Higher Education Database, will take place offline on 21-26 June 2023 at Semarang University, Central Java.
KRI itself is an annual student competition activity in the field of robotics design and engineering organized by BPTI Puspresnas Kemendikbudristek Republic of Indonesia. 2023 will be the 21st time that KRI has been held after it was first held in 2003 by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture.

KRI selection is carried out in four stages. The first stage is an administrative evaluation and assessment of the proposal. The second stage is the evaluation and assessment of progress reports and/or robot performance videos. The third is the Regional Level KRI which is attended by all divisions in the 2023 KRI who have passed the Second Stage Evaluation stage.
The Regional Level contest is divided into two regions. Region I covers Western Indonesia (Aceh to Yogyakarta) and Region II covers Eastern Indonesia (East Java to Papua). This stage was carried out online by displaying the robot remotely from each campus. Meanwhile, the final stage is the National Level KRI which is attended by a number of the best teams at the Regional Level KRI.
The 2023 KRI will compete in seven divisions, namely the same six divisions as the previous year plus one new division. The following are the seven divisions in KRI Regions I and II along with the themes of each division:
