Cakra Jagad Team PNM Becomes KMHE 2022 Finalist Achieving Highest Best Result Since KMHE 2017

Madiun – Cakra Jagad Team Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) bagged the final result as a finalist in the Prototype Category with an Ethanol MPD (Internal Combustion Engine) engine in the 2022 Energy Saving Car Contest (KMHE) on Thursday (3/11). Even though they didn't bring home a trophy, the Cakra Jagad Team of Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) managed to score the best result km/liter which was an increase from KMHE 2021.

The increase in the best result was from 248.75 km/liter in KMHE 2021 to 372.32 km/liter in KMHE 2022. This result is also the highest achievement of the Cakra Jagad Team PNM since they started participating in KMHE in 2017. The increase in best results uses the same car but is supported by the latest optimization and innovation by the Cakra Jagad Team PNM.

Before competing in KMHE 2022, the Cakra Jagad Team of Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) had first launched the Ethanol Internal Combustion Engine Prototype on Wednesday (26/10). This launch activity is also the release of the Cakra Jagad Team to compete in KMHE 2022.

Taking place in the Meeting Room, Building C, Campus 2 PNM, the launch activity was attended by Deputy Director 3 of Madiun State Polytechnic Fredy Susanto, S.Pd., M.Pd, Head of Engineering Department Achmad Aminudin, S.Pd., M.T., Automotive Engineering Technology Study Program Coordinator Farid Majedi, S.T., M.T., Supervisor Nanang Romandoni, S.Pd., M.T., as well as several parties Sponsors who can attend include PT. Gunung Mas, BRI, and KSPPS Tegal Ijo Mandiri. The agenda for the launch event was a presentation of vehicle specifications and car tests on the grounds of PNM Campus 2.

Cakra Jagad Team itself is one of the PNM research teams that develops energy efficient cars. The team consisted of students from the 3rd and 5th semester Automotive Engineering Technology Study Program who were supervised by supervisor Nanang Romandoni, S.Pd., M.T.

The energy-saving vehicle designed by Cakra Jagad Team PNM is a three-wheeled prototype type fueled by 95% Ethanol which has a futuristic concept and maximizes efficiency. The vehicle will be manufactured from July-October 2022 at the PNM Automotive Engineering Technology Laboratory.

At the 2022 KMHE event, the Cakra Jagad Team took part in the Prototype Category competition with an Ethanol MPD (Internal Combustion Engine) engine and became the top four finalists in that category. Including the Cakra Jagad Team, a total of 40 teams from various category classes qualified for the final round. The finalists then competed in the final round offline at the Gelora Bung Tomo Main Circuit in Surabaya on 30 October – 4 November 2022.

The Energy Efficient Car Contest (KMHE) itself is a national level economical car competition organized by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia and in collaboration with host universities.

Apart from Prototype, KMHE 2022 is also competing in the Urban Concept category. The Prototype category is a vehicle of the future with a special design that maximizes efficiency. Meanwhile, the Urban Concept category is a four-wheeled vehicle that looks like a car in general and is suitable for driving on the road. These two categories consist of four classes of propulsion engines, namely Gasoline Internal Combustion Motors (MPD), Diesel MPD, Ethanol MPD, and Electric Motors.

Cakra Jagad Team PNM has competed in KMHE since 2017 and has won several championship titles. Hopefully the Cakra Jagad Team PNM will be able to achieve the best results in the next KMHE event. *(Public Relations Team/PIP PNM)
