PNM English Language Study Program Students Win 3 Winners at ENCOMPASS 2023

Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) English Language Study Program (Prodi) students successfully won three championsEnglish National Competition of Performance, Art, and Social Speaking(ENCOMPASS) in 2023. The announcement was made via the Instagram account @encompassub_2023 on Sunday (25/06).

The competition, which was held by the English Literature Study Program at Brawijaya University, was held online from 25 May – 25 June 2023. The competition itself was open to all students from various universities in Indonesia.

Titled "The Digital Horizon: Unveiling English's Digital Renaissance", this competition which focuses on English language and literature has five categories. Among themDrama Competition, Poetry Performance, Newscasting, Feature Video Vlogging: Describing Indonesia,AndSocial Media Educative Content Creation.

The PNM English Study Program itself sent three students to take part in the competition Poetry Performance and three teams to take part in the competition Feature Video Vlogging: Describing Indonesia. Of the several PNM delegates, one student managed to win 1st place in the competition Poetry Performance and two teams managed to win 1st and 2nd place respectively in the competition Feature Video Vlogging: Describing Indonesia.

The following are the names of the PNM English Language Study Program students who won and the competition categories they participated in:

- Champion number 1 Poetry Performance (individual): Anisah Nur Fahruroh Al Afiyah.

- Champion number 1 Feature Video Vlogging: Describing Indonesia (team): Habib Surya Faradiva, Reza Pramudito, Zerlina Putri Lucretia.

- Runner up Feature Video Vlogging: Describing Indonesia (team): Raditya Hanantha Ibnu Bahar, Satya Yudha Isworo, Kamila Zahwa Fayza.

As additional information, competition categories Poetry Performance focuses on the participant's ability to read, pronounce, and perform in front of an audience or jury. Participants are required to read two poems that have been prepared by the committee, namely the mandatory poem entitled "A Supermarket in California" by Allen Ginsberg and selected poems. For selected poems performed by Anisah Nur Fahruroh Al Afiyah entitled "On First Looking into Chapman's Homer” by John Keats.

Currently in the competition category Feature Video Vlogging: Describing Indonesia, participants are expected to be able to describe places in Indonesia with a variety of creativity. Participants must also focus on the video theme, namely "Culture Digitalization: Exploring History and Culture in Indonesia". The PNM team itself sent a video entitled "Cetho Temple: Unveiling the Mysteries of an Ancient Heritage" And "Kresek Monument”.

The entire process in ENCOMPASS 2023 is carried out online so students only need to send their work to the committee. ENCOMPASS 2023 also invites all students from various universities in Indonesia to display their creativity in combining language, literature, culture and technology. *(Public Relations Team/PIP PNM)
