Madiun – Sunday (30/10), Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) celebrated its 10th Anniversary offline on Saturday (29/10). Taking place at PNM Campus 2, the commemoration of the decade of PNM's founding was opened with a Healthy Walk activity along a route starting from PNM Campus 2 - Pengging Road - Life Pharmacy Road - Keningar Road - West Ring Road - and ending again at PNM Campus 2.
The Healthy Walk was attended by all PNM academics, families and invited guests, totaling around three thousand participants. Also present were several former Madiun City Government foundation managers who were the originators of the birth of the Madiun Polytechnic, namely Ir. Karyono, Koko Raya SH, M. Hum, Drs. Suparminto, MM, DR. Agus Prasetyo, M.Pd, and Sugeng Rismiyanto, SH, M.Hum. The Healthy Walk activity is the beginning of a series of PNM Anniversary events which are planned to last until January.
Not only the healthy walk, the PNM decade commemoration was also enlivened by Reog cultural arts and also the announcement of a photography competition with the theme "Me, Ten, and My Study". Hundreds of prizes were provided with the main prize being two electric motorbikes.
This decade commemoration is a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the birth of PNM since it was nationalized by the Government, precisely on October 29 2012. According to PNM Director Muhamad Fajar Subkhan, S.T., M.T. in his speech, ten years is not a small age, but if it is analogous to school age, it is probably only the fourth grade of elementary school. However, a striking difference can be seen in the number of students at the initial birth of PNM when it was still private. In the past, the number of PNM students never exceeded a thousand people, in fact only 600-700 students. However, now the number of PNM students has reached two to three times the number before, namely around 2400 students.
At the age of 10 this year, PNM also has many achievements. One of them is that PNM was ranked 11th out of 44 State Polytechnics in Indonesia in terms of Polytechnic registrant statistics during the SNMPN (National Selection for State University Entrance) in 2022. This achievement shows that PNM is in demand and is an option that can compete with other Vocational Universities. Apart from that, in the field of facilities and infrastructure, PNM will also inaugurate a new building, namely the Railway Laboratory Building.
Coinciding with the decade anniversary of PNM's birth, PNM Director Muhamad Fajar Subkhan, S.T., M.T hopes that PNM will continue to develop, become popular with the public, and produce graduates who will fill the world of work with competent, innovative and competitive principles. *(Public Relations Team/PIP PNM)
