The Cendana PNM Team Won 1st Place in the IoT Development Competition at the 2023 Technocorner Event

The Madiun State Polytechnic (PNM) Cendana Team succeeded in winning the 1st place title in the fieldIoT Development Competition(IoT Dev Comp) at the Technocorner 2023 event, Tuesday (27/06). The final stage of the competition was held offline at the Smart Green Learning Center (SGLC) Gadjah Mada University on June 26-27 2023. Meanwhile, the series of activities itself started on February 14 2023.

The Cendana team is led by three PNM Computer Control Engineering (TKK) students. The three are Abdullah Salim, Yusuf Wijaya Kusuma Putra, and Farich Aswa Huda. Apart from that, the team was also guided by Sulfan Bagus Setyawan S.ST., M.T as a lecturer at the TKK Study Program.

Technocorner is an annual event held by the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology Student Family (KMTETI) Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University (UGM). Technocorner 2023 has the theme “Reinforcing Manufacture Revolution through Technology Supremacy". This theme was chosen to answer global challenges in the field of science and technology, namely to prepare and develop science and technology in Indonesia regarding the manufacturing revolution.

This year, Technocorner presents five types of competitions in the engineering field. Among themElectrical Engineering Competitionfor high school/equivalent students throughout Indonesia,Transporter Competition,Line Follower Competition, SumoBot Competition, AndInternet of Things Development Competition(IoT Dev Comp) for students and students throughout Indonesia.

It was noted that the Cendana PNM Team took part in Technocorner 2023 in the IoT Dev Comp field. IoT Dev Comp is a competition field that focuses on device-based developmentInternet of Things. IoT Dev Comppun participants are expected to be able to produce applicable and useful innovations to solve real-life problems.

The 2023 IoT Dev Comp) sub-theme is divided into 10 fields. Among them are:Smart Home, Industry, Medical and Health, Education, Transportation, Livestock and Agriculture, Environment, Public Facilities, Renewable Energy, Mitigation and Post-Disaster Management.

The Cendana team itself took up the Transportation sub-theme by competing a proposal entitled "Road Damage Identification Tool Based on Deep Learning and the Internet of Things as a Better Road Infrastructure Maintenance Solution".

As additional information, the competition stages that the Cendana Team went through were quite long. These stages start from collecting abstracts, proposal and video stages, as well as final presentations and tool demos. However, in the end the Cendana Team was able to win the 1st place title and were entitled to take home a prize of IDR 3 million. *(Public Relations Team/PIP PNM)
